FMJGA TOURNAMENTS
Fort Mill Junior Golf Association begins the 2010 season with a Captain's Choice event on Saturday, February 27. It is free to all area junior golfers who are members of the FMJGA (2010 Dues are $30, which includes a leather logo golf glove). There will be a $10 charge for non-members. It will be a 10 hole event, with prizes and awards for the best team score and closest to the #10 pin. Tee times will begin at 2:30…sign up in advance at the training center or contact Brent Reneau at 803/230-2853.
FMJGA LEAGUE PLAY
League play begins Saturday, March 6 at 2:30. Sign up for play by 2 PM. Participants will be place into flights based and age and skill level. League participation is only open to members of the FMJGA. For 2010, and each year thereafter, we have established a trophy for top league play during the entire season entitled the "ClubMasters Award". Details will be at our monthly meeting.
GOLF CLINICS
We will conduct a series of clinics for beginning and intermediate golfers. Clinics will begin on Saturday, February 27 at 4 PM. Clinics will be in a series of 5 sessions covering instruction in basic golfing principles, full swing, and short game. Cost of $75 for each series includes usage of equipment and range balls. Contact Brent Reneau, in advance, to enroll in clinics.
FMJGA MEETINGS
An important element of our junior program is monthly meetings discussing key aspects of golf. This past year, our speakers have included TOMI putting expert Pierre Noziet and Winthrop University Head Golf Coach Kevin Pendley. Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening, March 4, in the Oak Room at the clubhouse. All FMJGA members are expected to attend.
